When Christian Science was first presented to me I was...
When Christian Science was first presented to me I was miserable, both mentally and physically. I had suffered from a so-called organic disease which materia medica had failed to help; and also was afflicted with seemingly severe attacks of tonsillitis. Thus, from my suffering I was prepared to try Christian Science. After a few weeks of treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, together with the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was completely freed from these troubles. Among other ailments that have yielded to the power of Truth are colds, sick headaches, influenza, and sprains. Before becoming interested in Christian Science the least exertion fatigued me. Now, however, I am able to do whatever it is my duty to do without any sense of weariness; but, rather, with joy because of my understanding that the truth makes free.
While I am deeply grateful for the physical healings which have come to me through Christian Science, I am more grateful for my growing understanding of God. I am grateful to God, our Father-Mother; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, who has revealed Christian Science to the world. It is my daily desire to live my gratitude for Christian Science.
