I desire to express my sincere gratitude for the many...
I desire to express my sincere gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me and to my family since we took up the study of Christian Science. About twelve years ago, my husband was healed of a diseased condition of the right foot which necessitated the use of crutches. He began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and later a practitioner was asked to give treatment. After having treatment for a week conditions seemed to be worse, and he became very much discouraged; but I told him to hold fast to the truth; and I read constantly in Science and Health. That night he slept through the entire night, whereas before this the pain was so intense that he could find no rest. On Sunday morning, when he awakened, the foot was normal; and it has been so ever since. The healing was permanent. With this healing he was enabled to lay aside glasses, which he had worn constantly. Every summer he was troubled with the heat; but after his healing in Science this also was overcome.
I myself have been healed of rheumatism, after the doctor said he could do no more for me. My healing was very slow. Many times I was discouraged, thinking that the healing would never come; but whenever I attended the Wednesday evening meetings the testimonies always gave me new hope; and I pressed on until the healing was accomplished. With this healing came a wonderful illumination and spiritual understanding. There has been no trace of the trouble for the past ten years.
Christian Science has helped me not only physically but mentally, morally, and financially; and has brought peace and love into our home. I am also grateful for the periodicals; and for class instruction, which has been a wonderful help in working out all the problems which present themselves.—(Mrs.) Carrie Ehretsmann, Norwood, Ohio.
