It is often said that we receive many blessing of which we do not at once become conscious. For such an experience I desire to make grateful acknowledgment.

Nearly nine years have passed since I received an injury to my left knee, which wrenched loose the ligaments on the inside of the joint in such a way that the leg was continually giving way and causing me to fall. This always occasioned considerable pain. I was ignorant of Christian Science at that time, and the trouble gradually became worse, although several material remedies were used. In order to continue at work it was necessary to tightly bandage the joint, which was enlarged and swollen.

About eighteen months after this occurrence I became interested in Christian Science, primarily from a desire to learn if it was possible for a religion which promised such good to be really true. I found that it was. I did not have a Christian Science practitioner's help on this problem; although I asked for and received aid for lesser troubles. I did not know enough of Christian Science to realize that any error could be healed; although a short time after I commenced the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, the bandage was discarded
