It is now about twenty years since Christian Science was first brought to my notice. I was at that time a very sick woman. Through the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, many ills were met, and some with the aid of a faithful practitioner. At one time, our two oldest children obtained a doctor's medicine case which contained some poisonous pills. When I found the children, many bottles had been broken open and they were tasting the contents. By repeating over and over those words of Jesus, "If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them," and realizing what they meant, my fears were cast out, and no ill effects were manifested. At the birth of our third child, the Christian Science textbook was my only helper. There was no period of suffering or any discordant condition.

We, as a family of five, have relied upon Christian Science, no medicine being used in all these twenty years. Measles, chicken pox, and whooping cough were all met for our children in less time than was the case with those having medical aid. What my life would have been without the understanding of Christian Science, I cannot imagine. I am also grateful for class instruction, which has helped so much with many seemingly difficult problems. But most of all I am grateful for Mary Baker Eddy.
