Six years have passed since my first healing in Christian Science, and out of a grateful heart I give this testimony, hoping it may help some one as I have so often been helped by reading the testimonies in the Sentinel and Journal. I took up Christian Science for physical help, not knowing it was the religion Jesus taught; in fact, I knew little about it, only that it healed physical discord, without the aid of drugs. I had several healings, simply by reading Science and Health, understanding little of what I read, only that it was beautiful. Headaches and bowel trouble from which I had suffered for years, and which were becoming worse all the time, with only temporary relief from medicine and other treatments, disappeared almost instantly, never to return. But the most beautiful to me is the spiritualization of thought, knowing God as Love, and as ever present, and that He does not afflict His children, but is ever guiding and leading them in the path of righteousness.
Through the study of Christian Science the Bible has become an open book and I enjoy reading it, and in a measure realize the promises therein are for me, and can be demonstrated, and have learned it is God who healeth all our diseases. Last winter I was healed of influenza in a very short time, the practitioner calling but once, then giving absent treatment. I am thankful to the dear friends who have so patiently and lovingly helped me find the way, also for the authorized Christian Science literature. The Lesson-Sermon is food for thought, and I wonder how I lived so long without it. I thank God each day, and the noble woman whom He called to show us the way. This had been my prayer for years, "O God, show me the way," and Christian Science was the answer.
