I would like to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...
I would like to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. Six years ago Christian Science found me suffering from an illness which had lasted about ten years, during which time I went to many physicians without receiving any encouragement. They finally told my mother that I would live but a short time and that she had better send me to the country. I decided to come to this town. For two or three weeks I did not care whether I lived or not. One day a gentleman came to me and said, "Why don't you try Christian Science?" I replied, "What shall I do?" He lent me a copy of Science and Health and from the hour I began to read it I commenced to improve. The following Wednesday I attended my first Christian Science service, and after coming out I thought I would collapse, but I held on to what I had read and when I arrived home I decided to destroy my medicine, and have not taken any since.
I have since been healed of the tobacco habit, the use of profanity, and my other bad habits, as well as sick beliefs. I am most grateful for two things. One is the removal of ill feeling toward Mrs. Eddy, which I now know was without foundation; the other is for the spiritual uplift that has come to me. I sincerely trust that this testimony will bring a blessing to some one who is struggling under seeming heavy burdens.— J. F. Danker, Buzzards Bay, Mass.
