Obstacles in the Way

To the beginner in Christian Science there may seem to be many obstacles, and at times he may feel that it is almost impossible to continue his search for light.
The familiar words, "On earth peace, good will toward men," inextricably associated as they unfortunately are generally with holidays, going to church on a week day, Christmas presents, and so forth, have lost much of their force in the course of the years.
Some misstatements occur in a sermon, "Why I Am Not a Christian Scientist," reported in a recent issue of the Gazette.
My attention has been drawn to a report of a sermon by the Archbishop of Dublin, appearing in the Daily Express.
In the article, "Hypnotic Suggestions," in a recent issue of the Observer, there appears a statement which might lead one to believe that Christian Science is a form of mental suggestion.
The topic chosen for a series of sermons by the pastor of the Second Baptist Church, "Urgent Questions for Thinking People," is a good one.

I am indeed grateful for the teachings of Christian Science.
