What strength it brings to feel God’s guidance, even when the climbs we face are rocky, steep, or treacherous. These roads may be metaphorical, such as navigating a troubled relationship, or literal, such as conquering challenging outdoor terrain. Yet God’s guidance supports and steadies our prayers. God, as Life and Love, gives His goodness freely. God’s love isn’t earned; it’s our divine Father-Mother’s constant presence shepherding us over every demanding hurdle.
This week’s issue invites us to recognize that when the road to healing feels hard, we can trust that infinite Life is leading and sustaining each step. As this magazine’s founder, Mary Baker Eddy, puts it, “. . . rest assured you can never lack God’s outstretched arm so long as you are in His service” (Message to The Mother Church for 1901, p. 1).
