I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. Many beautiful healings have been experienced by my family and myself, for which I am deeply grateful. I am most grateful, however, for the spiritual understanding, the spiritual uplift; for the leading out of darkness into light, out of error into the understanding of Truth, Life, and Love, through the teachings of our dear Leader as given to us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings. She never grew weary of searching the Scriptures for the "pearl of great price," and after finding it she was willing that all the world should share what she had found. It is not to be wondered at that all Christian Scientists love Mrs. Eddy. For nearly nineteen hundred years there had not been one so pure, unselfish, and thoughtful of others; not since Jesus the Christ was there another brave enough to "come out from among them" and search for the truth. She searched for it, found it, and gave it to the world—the same truth that Jesus taught.

Like many others I came into Christian Science for healing. I had been suffering for many weeks from neuritis or rheumatism and could not lift my hand to my head. There seemed to be no rest either day or night. I was discouraged and despondent, for I had been to physicians and specialists and had tried everything I heard of, but nothing helped me. Finally a friend asked me why I did not try Christian Science, as it could not harm me. I felt that I was at the end of the road anyway, so went to a practitioner and began taking treatments. In a very short time I was free from pain, could rest at night, and there began to be an awakening that I had not known of before. There was a new life opening up to me, a new truth I had not heard of. I was healed not only physically, but mentally as well.

A few months later I became suddenly ill with pneumonia. A practitioner was asked to treat me, but the second day I began choking up so rapidly that my husband became frightened. At midnight he called up the practitioner and asked her what we should do. She said in reply, "Does she want a doctor?" My husband asked me and I said No, that if God could not heal me I did not want to be healed. The practitioner heard my answer and said I would be all right, for she knew I was standing firm and there could be no failure. In a short time I was asleep, and the morning found me healed.
