Paul says in Romans, "The good that I would I do not:...
Paul says in Romans, "The good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do." This was exactly my condition when Christian Science was first presented to me. Having been left an orphan at the age of fourteen I seemed swayed to and fro. Many friends came to my aid at the time, as to sense I was left penniless, without home, brother, or sister, and I tried to heed the loving advice given, but an undercurrent of wrong influence seemed almost to drown me. At last I began to investigate Christian Science and from the first believed the truth contained therein; but I did not prove it in many ways. However, I never ceased to read the literature and with the loving help of practitioners I was awakened to much wrong within myself. Finally I married, and after becoming a mother I was inspired more than ever to do God's will and not mine.
I have been healed of bowel trouble of fifteen years' standing, colds, injuries, and many other ailments. Our baby, now over two years old, has never tasted medicine. He has been healed of spasmodic dysentery, colds, measles, poisoning, and other ills. The physical healings are not, however, to be compared with the spiritual uplift, the constant desire to radiate more love, to do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I am humbly grateful for all the blessings received, and hope I may prove my gratitude, not by words but by deeds. I am grateful for all our periodicals, and for the many privileges afforded each earnest worker in Christian Science.
