With a heart overflowing with gratitude I wish to express...
With a heart overflowing with gratitude I wish to express my appreciation of Christian Science and tell of the many reasons for my thankfulness. In 1912 this teaching was brought to my attention by a dear friend, and I was instantaneously healed of sleeplessness. Six months later I began to study Christian Science, and after careful investigation found the spiritual sense of peace, joy, and happiness which Jesus promised should come to those who love God and abide in His law. All my life I had been subject to colds that would develop into a very stubborn cough, but through the help of a practitioner I was healed of this tendency. A year ago my joints became very stiff and after a while fear was so great that I sought the help of a practitioner. From the first treatment I received ease and peace of mind, together with a sense of happiness that gave me confidence of complete recovery, which came in a very short time. Words fail to express my gratitude for the beautiful healing and the spiritual uplift, as well as for gaining a clearer understanding of God and man.
My circumstances are such that I can attend the Sunday services only occasionally, and I am so grateful for our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the Lesson-Sermons. I find that in proportion as we apply God's law with what understanding we have and depend on God alone, we are enabled to prove the truth of Christian Science. I have made many minor demonstrations and seek the guidance of divine Love in all my problems, continually and sincerely striving for that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." I am most grateful for Mrs. Eddy's works and our other literature, and for being a member of The Mother Church. My gratitude to God is unbounded, as well as to our dear Leader, whose message of Truth is redeeming humanity in the way Christ Jesus demonstrated.—(Miss) Lena Dehling, Sarasota, Fla.
