A little over three years ago my attention was called to...
A little over three years ago my attention was called to Christian Science at a time when I was ready to grasp at anything which might give me relief from suffering. For more than four years I had suffered from gall bladder trouble and ulceration of the stomach. At one time I was bedfast for over three months. I was taken from one hospital to another on a stretcher, as the physician at the first hospital said he could do no more for me. Finally I recovered sufficiently to accompany my husband and my children to our present home, where I had one attack after another, being able to eat scarcely anything for weeks. Then another operation was performed, and I seemed better for a short time; but in less than a year the condition was as aggravated as before. I was told nothing more could be done for me, and a friend advised me to try Christian Science. I sent for a practitioner, and after three days' treatment and earnest study on my part I was completely healed.
I can find no words to express my gratitude for all the benefits that have come to our family through the understanding and application of the truth.
(Mrs.) Effie Giffen, Waterloo, Iowa.
