It has been about eighteen years since I first became interested in Christian Science and was healed of an internal disorder said to be incurable. I have also been healed of sick headache, throat trouble, and many minor ailments. My little son was freed from malarial attacks, which he would have every few weeks. My husband was restored when he had to mortal sense passed on. It was the clear thought of my little son that did this work. Having hurried to my husband's side as I saw the change, I turned to the child and told him his father was dead. Quickly he answered, "There is no death; God is his life," and running to the side of the couch he began calling his father to awake. Faintly and slowly the pulse resumed its action, the color came into the lips, and after a little while he opened his eyes and said, "I thought I was gone." The child's face seemed glorified as he triumphantly exclaimed, "I told you God was his life."
Later on this child, then a boy of sixteen, was stricken with typhoid fever. His temperature was extremely high and he was delirious. Having passed through a siege of this malady when we lost our little daughter, fear overcame me, and I sent my husband to a practitioner for help. Only absent treatment was given, but within two hours the boy became quiet. The fever was broken, and he passed into a quiet slumber. The next morning he awoke hungry, and although a little weak that day was up and around, and the following day he was as well as usual.
My little grandson seemed subject to attacks of appendicitis, and the physician grew very much alarmed at one time, thinking he would have to operate. The boy's father not being interested in Christian Science, I could say nothing then, but silently denied the reality of the seeming conditions. The child was quite free for a time, and then one night displayed all the symptoms which presaged these attacks. The father being gone, I asked the child if he wanted me to treat him and he nodded his head, so I took Science and Health and began reading. In about half an hour he felt better and was soon sound asleep. I continued to read and treat him in Science for several hours, when the fever was gone and conditions were normal. He was well the next morning and has had no return of the trouble.
