Almost three years ago I went to a testimony meeting with a friend who was having Christian Science treatment. I did not go for healing, but just to keep my friend company, and what I heard impressed me so much that I felt I must take up the study of Christian Science. The following week I was going on holiday and so I took with me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. The first thing I did was to discard my medicine, although for about eight years I had been continually in the care of doctors and this medicine was given as a last resort. Very soon I found that this book was indeed the key to the Scriptures, and much that had puzzled me became clear.

Christian Science has taught me how to worship God in spirit and in truth, to "act as possessing all power from Him in whom we have our being" (Science and Health, p. 264). When I learned that life is not in the flesh, that God is Life, I understood the meaning of the Bible words, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." I knew then it mattered not what I ate or drank. At that time I was dieting and had been for two years. I was also suffering from nervous prostration and stomach trouble and had undergone a long course of electrical treatment with little result. For over four years the greater part of each year had been spent on holiday seeking health. Christian Science has brought to me joy and peace and health. It has taught me there is nothing to fear. I go out now in all conditions of weather and eat the usual routine food. For the past two years and a half I have enjoyed health such as I never had before, and it has been maintained during a period of trying experience.

I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her discovery. Christian Science has revealed to me the only living and true God and my relation to Him. I feel truly grateful to all who have helped me to understand this healing truth.
