To evidence the fact that Christian Scientists are Christians, I would call your readers' attention to the directions given by Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for the teaching in the Sunday schools. She explicitly lays down the rule that the "first lessons" should be the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation as given on page 16 of Science and Health, and the Beatitudes. (See Manual, Art. XX, Sect. 3.) She also states in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," on page 448, "It is Christian Science to do right, and nothing short of right-doing has any claim to the name."

It is right and consistent with the teaching of Christ Jesus to heal all manner of sickness and disease and to relieve the oppressed, and Christian Scientists are doing this daily, according to the measure of their understanding of spiritual Truth. Men and women have been cured through the teaching of Christian Science, not merely of sickness and disease but also of various bad habits, such as drunkenness, debauchery, morphine and drug taking, and criminals have been reformed.
