Seven years ago, when Christian Science came to me, I was a physical and mental wreck. I had been under a physician's constant care for three years, gaining little if any help, and was finally told that no medicine would cure me and that an operation was necessary. I was indeed as one in the sea with nothing to hold to, for I preferred death to an operation. Christian Science came to my attention, however, and by the time I had read the first fourteen pages of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I had found that for which I had been seeking and was instantly healed of nervous prostration. Through the earnest study of the Bible and Science and Health I was able to realize that sight is spiritual and to lay aside glasses which the oculist said it would always be necessary for me to wear.

While most grateful for the physical healings, my gratitude for the mental and spiritual regeneration is beyond expression. Early in my interest in Christian Science I became a member of The Mother Church. I am indeed very grateful for all the periodicals, and for the many ways for helping mankind established by Mrs. Eddy. Words cannot express the happiness I receive from the study of this beautiful, demonstrable religion. I can only prove my gratitude by being faithful to God and to the works of Christian Science.
