Six years ago I began the study of Christian Science. I did not take it up for physical healing, though it was much needed, but from a compelling necessity to find God. From the day I began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and other Christian Science literature, I forgot my physical self, and one day, about a month later, suddenly awoke to the realization of perfect health. Nervous exhaustion, tubercular bronchitis, rheumatism, serious eye trouble, and many other ailments have disappeared. I did not know that health and abounding strength are manifestations of God, and was most impatient and ungrateful because they had manifested themselves so perfectly and the spiritual light and understanding I so much desired did not come; but now, since the day is dawning for me, I can truly say that I am grateful for the necessity for long, earnest, and prayerful study. Many faults of disposition are being corrected, much fear is being destroyed, and material needs are being supplied. When loved ones passed on I was kept in perfect peace. In my family many beautiful proofs of the power of Life, Truth, and Love, both to heal and to protect, have been established.

I am most grateful for all the help that has come to me through the activities of our church and through the literature, and for the encouragement gained through seeing the growth in Truth and Love expressed by my coworkers. For membership in The Mother Church, also in a branch church, for class instruction and the privilege of membership in my class association, and especially for the opening up of the Bible which our "Key to the Scriptures" and the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons have brought to me, I am also grateful. Because of the darkness of the night out of which I have been led, I know that there is no condition which cannot be corrected by the truth, if faithful work is done according to the rules given by our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has taught us how to follow the Way-shower, Christ Jesus.
