Treatment
Christian Science treatment is the bringing into expression of that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." The practitioner understands the promise, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This treatment demonstrated in the harmonious action of the human mind and body illustrates Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 210): "Knowing that Soul and its attributes were forever manifested through man, the Master healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, feet to the lame, thus bringing to light the scientific action of the divine Mind on human minds and bodies and giving a better understanding of Soul and salvation. Jesus healed sickness and sin by one and the same metaphysical process."
Treatment in Christian Science is true prayer. The answer is the healing. The vital force of a Christian Science treatment is the truth lived, which has therefore become a living truth to the enlightened consciousness, and this truth, audibly or inaudibly declared, carries healing. The conscious utilization of this knowledge of spiritual facts, exercised to establish obedience to the law of God in our lives, reveals the one creator and the one creation. The awareness of this spiritual creation was revealed in the miracles of Jesus, who proved conclusively by his treatment of sin, sickness, and death, that the correct view of creation is wholly spiritual. Just as intelligence proves that witchcraft never created a witch, and that all the childish faith of the ages cannot ultimate in a personal Santa Claus, so Christian Science proves that superstition or false belief cannot and does not create anything.
Knowing that there is no disease, disease being nonexistent in God's creation and consequently everywhere absent, the Christian Science practitioner proceeds with honest conviction and mathematical certainty to apply the metaphysical logic which demonstrates itself in "signs following." The patient, agreeing mentally with the spiritual facts, finds himself healed. Thus is Christian Science treatment justified; for, as the Master said, "Wisdom is justified of her children."
