It is about nine years since I first heard of Christian Science, at a time when I was in great need of physical healing. When only two years of age I had a severe sunstroke, and I never recovered from the effects of this until I was healed in Christian Science. I was such a physical and mental wreck that it was impossible for me to attend school more than a few months at a time without having a nervous breakdown, and as I was very fond of study this was a great trial to me. I also suffered severely from throat trouble, heart disease, bowel disorder, biliousness, and other complaints; in fact, most of my time was spent on a couch. After three weeks' treatment from a Christian Science practitioner these ailments left me one by one, and I was also enabled to discontinue the use of glasses, after having worn them for five years.

A short time ago I had a little experience which was of great help to me. I had been suffering from backache in a severe form for some days and could hardly walk about. One evening I mentioned this condition to my mother, who said that we should realize the unreality of it; so I tried to lift my thoughts above materiality for a time, and after a while the words came, "I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High." I was rather astonished, as I seldom if ever think of this verse. I got up and went for the Bible so that I could read the words correctly, and then found that the backache had entirely vanished, and the strength I experienced was wonderful.

It would be quite impossible to express my gratitude for Christian Science.—(Miss) Lily Turpin, Leeds, England.
