I was suffering from great mental depression, and for...
I was suffering from great mental depression, and for many months tried to get help from various isms, but all these methods of healing left me unmoved and unhealed. One Sunday morning something told me to go to the Christian Science church, and from the moment I entered the door it seemed to me I began to experience a spiritual uplift. Before the end of that service I knew I had found the church of my long desire. I went to the reading room the following week and after a long talk with the attendant she lent me a copy of Science and Health, which I promised to read. The following week I saw a practitioner and was given a treatment. When I awoke next morning, instead of those black thoughts and a sense of rebellion that had heretofore possessed me, there was a conscious sense of tranquillity. There was no more holding back; I was in complete surrender to this demonstration of the power of Truth. My one desire was to know more of this beautiful religion, and as I studied Christian Science I began to see how Love had been leading me, not allowing me to cease my struggle until I found my right place.
My daily prayer is for greater love, knowing that only through works of love can I show proper gratitude for all I have received.
