I gratefully send this testimony of what Christian Science...
I gratefully send this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. For nearly four years prior to 1913, I sought in vain for relief from a combination of ailments which no two of five physicians diagnosed the same. I was unable to do any work for over a year, nearly six months of which time were spent in bed. One doctor said an operation would be necessary before I could ever hope to be well again, although at that time I was too weak to be operated on. Later I improved somewhat and was able to be about my home. After several months I tried to do some light work, but soon began to fail again and then life seemed more hopeless than ever.
About a year previous to this a distant relative had sent me a copy of The Christian Science Journal, calling attention to the testimonies and local practitioners; but having always been opposed to this teaching I laid the periodical aside as containing nothing of interest to me. One morning, when it was very clear that all means of help previously employed had utterly failed, I suddenly decided to try Christian Science. A practitioner was called, and came to see me that afternoon. The next day stomach and bowel disorder of over two years' standing had disappeared. A severe case of liver trouble and great fear were some time in disappearing completely, but I am very grateful to say that all difficulties have been overcome, and Christian Science has been the only remedy used in our home for five years. Hardly in words can I express my thankfulness to God for the help we have received in every hour of need, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for this truth which blesses all mankind.
