After reading in the Sentinel for June 15 the editorial inviting "living witnesses to consider the opportunity of the hour," I feel that now is the time to give a long delayed testimony of many years of repeated blessings. I feel as if I am among those "which came out of great tribulation."

In the spring of 1884 I was suffering from eye trouble, supposed to be the effect of an attack of scarlet fever which I had some years previous. One of the best oculists in the city where I was living at the time said he had done all that he could for me and I should eventually become blind. I heard of so-called incurable diseases being healed by a method called Christian Science, and felt that if I tried this method and was not helped, it could not make me any worse; so I had treatment and was relieved at once of the intense pain. For eighteen years or more I have found that the little understanding of Christian Science teaching I have gained, when faithfully applied, has met every need. I cannot find words to express my gratitude for the privilege of being a student of Christian Science.
