For some time I have wanted to express my gratitude for the blessings my family and I have received through Christian Science. During the eleven years of our growth in understanding of this wonderful truth about God and man's relation to Him, we have had many proofs of its protecting power. When first coming into Christian Science I was healed of the necessity of wearing glasses, after having worn them since childhood. This healing came through just reading part of the chapter on Prayer in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I am very grateful for another healing which occurred about a year ago. After childbirth there was a very pronounced case of what is called uræmic poisoning, so alarming that the attending physician gave little hope of recovery and wanted to inject a serum. This serum, he stated, would do no good, as I was beyond medical aid, but in case of death he would be able to feel that he had done all he could. My husband and I objected to the use of the serum, so we turned to God, knowing, as we read in the forty-sixth chapter of Psalms, that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Our faith was justified. The convulsions which the physician predicted did not appear, and in a few hours the terrible swelling had gone to its native nothingness. On the tenth day I was up and dressed.

I want to prove my gratitude to God for His protecting care, of which we are assured each day; and I know that by living this truth and applying my understanding of the divine Principle as taught in Christian Science my progress will be sure. I am happy that I have been considered worthy of being appointed teacher in the Sunday school, and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, who has made it possible for humanity to have this understanding of the truth.
