Among the Churches
Current Notes
Sacramento, Cal.—The handsome new edifice of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, 2828 Thirty-third Street, Oak Park, is completed, and opening services will be held next Sunday [July 7]. The auditorium will seat four hundred and fifty, the balcony one hundred and sixty, and the reading and directors' rooms in the front of the church are constructed so as to open into the main auditorium, giving additional seating capacity of two hundred when needed. The total cost of the lot and structure is fifteen thousand dollars.
Second Church of Christ, Scientist, was organized in November, 1914, by a small band of faithful workers who were sent out from First Church in order to establish a church for the convenience of members in Curtis Oaks and Oak Park. Services were held in a residence remodeled for that purpose at Third and Center Streets. Later they were held in Muddox Hall, Oak Park, while for the past eighteen months Sunday and Wednesday evening services have been held in the Tuesday Clubhouse.—The Union.
Greeley, Col.—First Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold services to-day [July 7] for the first time in its new church, which has just been completed. The building is of the bungalow style. The edifice and the ground upon which it stands are valued at nearly ten thousand dollars. Of this amount a large part has been paid, and it is expected that the church will be entirely free of debt within a month. The building occupies a spacious site at Eighth Avenue and Fourteenth Street across from the new high school.
