That "man's extremity is God's opportunity" has been proved to me. I had opposed religion, Christian Science included, as I did not understand the statements made to me about its teaching; but I reached out for it in my darkest hour, and after a very short while, through the sincere study of the Bible together with the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of a malignant growth, liver complaint, neuralgia, and several minor ailments of many years' duration. The drinking and smoking habit also left me. Christian Science has helped me in my home, making me a better husband and father, and it has entirely changed my attitude toward my fellow man. It has given me a demonstrable Principle, whereby I can put off the old man and put on the new. I am indeed thankful to our Father-Mother God, and grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who through her unselfish life was able to impart this true understanding of God.
