I have received so much good from the testimonies in the Sentinel that I feel it a duty to send an account of my healing, hoping that others may be encouraged thereby. It is about ten years since I first heard of Christian Science through a friend who asked me to try it. I gladly did so, and with the help of a faithful practitioner was healed of ulcerated stomach, extreme nervousness, biliousness, and chronic bowel trouble. I could eat only light food, was sleepless, and in fact was a nervous wreck. I had been in poor health for a number of years. Many doctors did all they could for me, but I received only temporary relief. My healing in Christian Science was not complete for a few months, but after the second treatment the bowel disorder and the fear of eating vanished and never returned. From then on I ate what was set before me. When progress seemed slow, I never had any desire to go back to medicine, for I knew that I had found the truth which Jesus taught and demonstrated for us all. I feel very grateful that I have had to prove every step of the way, for otherwise I might have dropped the study. I have had many beautiful demonstrations.

One evening, shortly after I became interested in this teaching, our little girl, then about three years of age, fell on her hand, turning it under. It soon became very painful and swollen. I could not get her quiet for any length of time, and about midnight my husband thought we had better send for a doctor, which we did. He called it a very bad sprain and bandaged her wrist, then told us to bring her to see him the next evening. During this time I was declaring the truth for her as best I knew how, and about ten o'clock the next morning she came to me saying her arm was well. She was perfectly healed. We did not need to take her to the doctor, but he stopped in the next day, and was very much surprised to find her all right. My husband was healed of a sprained ankle through help from a practitioner, the pain leaving very quickly.

I am truly grateful for all these blessings that have come to us, but the greatest of all blessings is the broader, happier outlook on life. I hope to live each day in accordance with this truth, letting it purify my consciousness, and thereby gaining a clearer understanding of God as unchanging Love, omnipresent and omnipotent. I also wish to express my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for bringing this demonstrable truth within reach of all.
