It is about seven years since I became interested in...
It is about seven years since I became interested in Christian Science, and during that time many blessings have been received, but I never fully realized just how many until within the past year when I have been counting them up and feeling more grateful every day. I have been healed of headaches, cuts, burns, and other ills.
In May, 1916, while I was house cleaning, a large splinter got into the palm of my hand, extending up into the middle finger, and while it did not come through the flesh there was quite a lump on the side of the finger. I immediately began to declare the truth, but allowed fear to creep in to such an extent that in about an hour it was necessary to telephone to a practitioner for help. This took place on Thursday morning and I had treatment each day until on Saturday afternoon a wonderful change took place and my hand, which had been swollen and stiff, but not painful, resumed its normal condition. During the following week fear again tried to manifest itself, but was overcome with the help of a practitioner. For fourteen weeks this work went on, and during that time there were many doubts and fears to overcome, but finally the splinter came out easily and without any assistance on my part. It came out of the middle finger, while I had been looking for it to come out of the palm of the hand, proving that we cannot plan how the healing is to be accomplished, or when, but must leave it to God.
I am truly thankful to God for Christian Science and grateful to Mrs. Eddy. My desire is to be worthy the name of Christian Scientist.—Miss Mae F. Watson, Colwyn, Pa.
