About six years ago, while in Honolulu, territory of Hawaii, I took up the study of Christian Science, not with the expectation of receiving any benefit from it, but to learn what was interesting others. After reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, about half through, many aches and pains of years' standing had disappeared, how or where I hardly understood at that time. I needed no further proof of the healing power of Truth, so took up the study more earnestly and later was freed from severe attacks of quinsy, inflammatory rheumatism, and a chronic bowel trouble which had affected me since childhood. Aside from the physical healing, the spiritual uplift was a renewal of life to me. My likes and dislikes through life had always been pronounced, but now I am learning through the guidance of divine Love to see man as created in God's image and likeness.
Recently I have been beautifully healed of what is called erysipelas. My sister, with whom I live and who is not interested in Christian Science, was much frightened at my condition and wanted to call a physician, but I said the practitioner was capable of handling the case. I was in bed only four days, but did not suffer at all, and those who were admitted to see me looked at me with surprise. I am certainly very grateful for my rapid healing. I cannot express in words my thankfulness to God, whom I am learning to know and serve aright, and I feel deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who was given such spiritual perception as to be able to make this truth plain to suffering humanity.
Mrs. Fannie K. Painter, Fallon, Nev.
