I have long wished to avail myself of the privilege of expressing heartfelt gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. Eleven years ago I was entirely healed of asthma through reading Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." A dear sister and niece sent me the book for a Christmas present, and I shall never forget the peace that came to me when I read the opening lines in the Preface: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." The first reading of Science and Health convinced me that it contained the truth about God, man, and the universe. I had read the Bible from my earliest days, though not with much understanding. The healing came through studying, and trying to practice Christian Science in daily living; my whole hope was in God. I did not seek physical healing, although greatly in need of it, but as soon as the study of the textbook was begun I felt as though I could not read fast enough. I knew it was just what I needed, and loved Mrs. Eddy for being pure enough to give it to the world. Since my healing I have never had a return of the ailment.
Before coming into Christian Science I was very unhappy and irritable, but my disposition has improved and many discordant conditions have yielded to the truth. Ten years ago a sister living in Los Angeles, California, came to visit me, and when she returned to her home I went with her. I was also enabled to take class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's students, for which privilege I am grateful. The Sentinel, the Journal, and the Monitor are welcome in our home and are read daily. My heart is full of love for all mankind and I pray every day for all.
