Many times it has come to me that I must express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for me and for my family. My father was a physician, and I had deep respect for all his work. When I was about to be married to a Christian Scientist many misgivings came to me and I asked if I might be permitted to have a physician if I wished. The reply was that I might do so. I also asked if I might continue to attend my own church, and was assured that I might, and that my husband would accompany me occasionally. For four months after our marriage we lived with my husband's family while waiting for our own home to be completed. During that time I was in no way urged to attend the Christian Science services, but was assured that I would be welcome whenever I wished to attend. Before long I clearly saw that there was nothing so restful, so quieting, so harmonious among my former church people as I found here, and in just six months I was ready to say, "Thy people shall be my people." I joined the church and later was privileged to become a member of The Mother Church.

Through the years that have followed there has been much to be overcome. Gradually with the help of a patient practitioner many nagging errors, such as revenge, jealousy, and selfishness, are losing their hold, and whereas I saw "through a glass, darkly," I am beginning to catch a glimpse of mental freedom. When our little boy came, such fear was held over me that I believe had it not been for Christian Science neither the baby nor I could have lived. This wonderful demonstration seemed to prove to me more completely the power of Truth. This little son is now seven years old, strong and sturdy, as people express it, a picture of health. He is also able to express and demonstrate the truth. His sister, who is four years of age, is strong and sunny too. I could not tell of all the blessings we have had, but the truth means more to us each day.

Many discordant conditions have been overcome and much good work has been accomplished. Often the question comes to me, "How can I best express my gratitude for all the help I have received?" And the answer is invariably, "By putting into practice the truth I have learned."
