Afflicted with hemorrhage of the lungs, also stomach and bowel trouble, and suffering in mind and body, I came from Kentucky to Colorado by advice of my faithful physician, whom I loved and still love. For a time I improved, but in the midst of a busy term of court the hemorrhage returned. I struggled on until finally advised by a physician that in his judgment I could not live to exceed one year unless I abandoned my profession, that of law, lived in the open, and continued to diet. I moved into the heart of the mountains and there with every material aid, pure air, spring water, the fragrance of the pines, mountain and valley of indescribable grandeur and beauty, I continued to experience sleepless nights and at times intense suffering.

Through my wife's healing in Christian Science of a malignant disease I was led to employ a practitioner, and as a result thereof exchanged the above products of material, wrong thinking for spiritual, right thinking and was completely healed. It is therefore more than a pleasure to acknowledge the blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science and to give thanks for the Christian Science organization and for all the instrumentalities it is using for the elevation and spiritual development of mankind. I desire especially to give thanks for Mrs. Eddy's writings, so replete with wisdom and truth, the study of which incites love for and search of the Scriptures, and liberates from bondage to all the erroneous conceptions of the so-called carnal or mortal mind, teaching the nature and character of God's presence and bringing fullness of joy.

For all that Christian Science has accomplished and for all the blessings, physical and spiritual, that have come to me and to others, I can best express my thanks in the language of the psalmist, "I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever."
