It is with a heart filled with thankfulness to God that I...

It is with a heart filled with thankfulness to God that I testify to all Christian Science has done for me, hoping that this testimony may help others. My healing was slow, but through this experience I have gained much. My husband first heard of Christian Science from a friend, who brought him a copy of the Sentinel at the beginning of the year 1912. As he had been seeking the truth for many years, he procured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy without delay, for after a short period of study he recognized that this was indeed the truth of which Jesus spoke.

In February, 1905, I was very ill and my husband called in a doctor who, after an examination, advised me to go to the hospital at once to undergo an operation, which he said would cure me; but we were not eager to comply with his wishes. The operation was eventually performed, but instead of getting better I became worse. I was under medical treatment for several years, but became gradually weaker, and suffered from hemorrhage for two years and a half. The doctors then advised another operation, as they could not do anything more for me; indeed, after I began to have Christian Science treatment one of the physicians even told the practitioner that it was quite impossible for me ever to regain my health, but the power of Truth has completely healed me. I am well and strong and able to attend to all my home duties.

Those who read this testimony will realize how grateful we are for having found Christian Science. We know that through Mrs. Eddy's faithful efforts we may always avail ourselves of our loving Father's aid.—Mrs. Alida Hemerik, Mount Stewart, Cape, South Africa.
