It is about seven years since my first healing in Christian Science, and I would like to acknowledge this blessing publicly, to show in a small way my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for bringing me out of darkness, doubt, sickness, and unhappiness into the sunshine of health and joy. About five years previous to my healing, I was compelled to have a surgical operation for a growth which the doctors said was the cause of continual hemorrhages. I was in bed nine months after this operation before getting relief enough to be up and around.

First years later the condition became manifest again, and after being examined by my husband's brother, a physician, and learning from him that the growth had reappeared, remembering the suffering and struggle I had experienced after the operation, I had no faith to go through the ordeal again, so without telling anyone of my intention I visited a Christian Science church in the city where I was residing. At the close of the service I felt that I was in my right place and so turned to a practitioner for help the following day. In seven treatments I was healed, much to my surprise. My family recognized the healing and wanted to know how it had come about, and on being told, they rejoiced with me in this new-found faith in God. I had further treatments at intervals for the overcoming of fear, but have had no return of the trouble.

I am very grateful for the many blessings that have come to me through this healing truth, but to me the greatest blessing is the light which has been thrown on the Bible by the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, who was loving, pure, and unselfish enough to labor to bring this understanding of the omnipotence of God to human apprehension.
