The Lectures

Concord , N. H. (First Church).—John Randall Dunn, lecturer; introduced by Major Charles E. Staniels; who said in part:—

Those of us who have lived in Concord for a generation or so recognize the fallacy of the proverb that "a prophet is not without honor, save in his own country." The influence of Mrs. Eddy's teachings is actively manifest in her own state, from which it has extended throughout the civilized world. Her public spirit is also a matter of record in the archives of the city of Concord. This beautiful temple, a characteristic gift to her devoted followers, is indicative of her desire not only to meet the requirements of a growing religious constituency but to anticipate the increasing demands of posterity.

I have listened to words of wisdom from this platform without dissent. I have heard testimonies from the faithful, many of which were of a remarkable character, which would indicate that Mrs. Eddy's precepts have revealed a balm of Gilead which is a restful consolation to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of her followers.—Concord Monitor.
