The first healing in our family, through the power of Truth as taught in Christian Science, was that of my mother some six years ago. She was healed of an abnormal growth which was causing her much pain and misery. She had been examined by a physician and two trained nurses who advised an immediate operation, and this was being considered when a friend spoke of Christian Science. Treatment was asked for and to our astonishment the growth vanished in three treatments.

As we had received such wonderful proof of the efficacy of Christian Science practice, treatment was again asked for when my small brother had measles and a year later when he had chicken pox. Both times all the manifestations of disease disappeared the fourth day, although treatment was not begun until the second day. About two years ago my mother was healed in a few days of a severe attack of rheumatism.

I have been healed of stomach disorder, worry, also to a great extent of fear, and business troubles have been overcome. I am to-day most grateful, not only for the overcoming of the errors of sense but for the fact that Christian Science is a preventive of discord. Some time ago my arm pained me so much that I could not move it without the greatest agony. The thought, however, came that I could make use of my understanding of the truth, so I tried to realize that God is the only Mind and that matter has no intelligence. Then I looked up the word action in the Concordance of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and after studying a few moments found that I was moving my arm without the least pain.
