It should be understood that Christian Science is not faith cure, nor are Christian Science healings the result of the commonly accepted thought about mind over matter; but Christian Science healing is accomplished through the power of divine Mind, or God, over the human mind. The spiritual law through which healing results in Christian Science is the antithesis of suggestion, hypnotism, or mesmerism. In other words, spiritual law destroys the belief that man exists apart from God. The fact that the real man, the man of God's creating, lives, and moves, and has his being in Him, and the Scriptural teaching of this atonement, understood, has healed all manner of diseases, including broken bones, cancer, tumors, and functional, structural, and organic disorders.

Instead of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, being a substitute for the Bible, it has been the means of making more Bible students than any other book or movement of modern times. There is no such thing as a Christian Scientist who is not a Bible student, because the first religious tenet of Christian Science reads (Science and Health, p. 497), "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."
