A revivalist is reported to have avowed his belief that Christian Science is of the devil. The New Testament records that Christ Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and that he destroyed sin, sickness, and death. The mission of Christian Science is a revival of the works of Christ Jesus, and it affords proof of its Christian ministry by the healing of the sick as well as the sinful. How can this possibly be the work of the devil, since evil is not cast out by Beelzebub, the accuser of the Christ? Jesus also declared of "the devil" that "he is a liar," and "there is no truth in him." We should all seek to live the truth and to tell the truth, and thus avoid likeness to personified evil or devil.
