On page 559 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

On page 559 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, the textbook of Christian Science, may be found these words: "Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it. It will be indeed sweet at its first taste, when it heals you." I shall never forget the sweetness of my experience when I was healed through reading Science and Health. When the book was placed in my hands I was diseased physically, having been under medical treatment for six years for a weak and curved spine, only to be told that I never could be well. I also suffered from chronic bowel disorder and two functional troubles. Besides this, the first deep grief I had ever known had just entered my life through the loss of a much loved and very near one. Then, too, although connected with Sunday school and church from childhood, I had drifted from those moorings. As I continued to read the "little book" I found myself drinking it in as a thirsty creature does the cool, refreshing water. In the course of a few weeks' reading and study I was perfectly healed physically, and the clouds of sorrow lifted. Most glorious of all, I had found a God whom I could love and adore, whose laws were demonstrable. This healing occurred seventeen years ago. Since that time Christian Science has been my daily food, and has supplied and is supplying every need, physical, mental, and spiritual.

This testimony is given in unbounded thankfulness to God, "from whom all blessings flow," and to Christ Jesus the Way-shower, who meekly and lovingly blazed the trail for all mankind; also in gratitude to the dear woman, Mrs. Eddy, whose spirituality, purity, and unselfed love enabled her to reveal Christian Science, the Christ-teaching, to this age.—(Miss) Gertrude Jordan, Marinette, Wis.
