It is now fourteen years since Christian Science was first brought to my notice by a friend. I became very much interested but did not take up the study until some time after our first child was born. I am thankful to say it has brought me much help, comfort, and healing. It has helped me to overcome to a large extent fear, selfishness, and loneliness. We have five strong, healthy, and happy children, and none but the first one has ever tasted medicine. I have had many beautiful proofs of God's protecting care in the overcoming of ailments common to childhood and in almost painless childbirth. A serious skin disease was healed by absent treatment from a practitioner.

I do not often meet other Christian Scientists, as we live twenty miles from the nearest Christian Science Society, but I had the privilege of attending my first Christian Science lecture this past winter, and a year ago I joined The Mother Church. I have had much opposition and many struggles with mortal, material selfhood, and have gone through deep waters, but divine Love has never failed. There are yet unsolved problems, but thanks to God and to our faithful Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has unlocked the Bible for us, I have the word of Truth for my guide. Words cannot express my gratitude for the Lesson-Sermons and for the Sentinel and Journal. They are my faithful friends and always bring just the needed help. I desire to send special thanks to those who contribute the poems, which are particularly helpful to me.

My earnest prayer is that I may so reflect the teachings of Christian Science in my life that more peace on earth and good will to men may be manifested.
