I feel it is my duty to acknowledge the healing and benefit I have had since my attention was led to Christian Science by a friend who told me that if I would read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I would not have to use material remedies. I was at that time taking medicine for a chronic stomach trouble and bowel disorder and for a kidney trouble of many years' standing. I had also been using two electric appliances without any benefit. I was healed of these ailments after reading Science and Health and other books written by Mrs. Eddy. I was also freed from hemorrhoids, and the smoking habit, of over forty years, was overcome at the same time. I used to indulge in drink, but can truthfully say that I have not had any desire for it during the last four years.

I consider these healings very beautiful, and more so my gaining of an understanding of English, for I am foreign born. I still have some problems to work out, but I know that as I grow in understanding of Christian Science they will be solved. I feel very thankful to God, and grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this saving truth brought to mankind. It is not for the healing alone that I am grateful, but for the confidence and assurance that Christian Science gives me.
