With reference to the item reprinted in your March number from The Churchman, to the effect that during a Red Cross drive for membership in New York last December Christian Scientists tore down Red Cross posters, destroyed a Red Cross booth, and forbade a Red Cross agent to solicit members, I would ask you to give equal circulation to my statement that this report is entirely false. No such incident occurred then or at any time.

One of the Christian Science churches in New York City holds its services in the Aeolian Concert Hall, and one of the entrances to this hall is also an entrance to the office building called Aeolian Hall. A Red Cross booth was maintained in this entrance with the consent of the Christian Scientists, and was so maintained before and after the report in question was originally published. Possibly the editor of The Churchman reads a certain New York paper which is not reliable in regard to Christian Science.
