Benevolent Funds of The Mother Church

"At the annual meeting of our association a collection was taken,—the amount inclosed herewith,—to be applied to the fund of The Christian Science Benevolent Association, as an expression of love and gratitude for the consecrated work of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The loyalty and gratitude of the association is also extended to the Directors of The Mother Church, in appreciation of their obedience and wisdom in carrying out this desire of our Leader."

"A little four year old boy commenced of his own accord to put coins, as he received them, into a little leather purse which had been given him. At the end of about ten days, he took the purse and its contents to the Christian Science Sunday school of which he is a pupil and asked that it be sent to France to help the little French children. His mother was advised to send the money direct to you, and she has asked me to do this for her. Herewith you will find a money order for the amount in the purse to date. He has already begun to work for more."

"I want to send a small contribution to the War Relief fund. My son has fallen in the great struggle for liberty and humanity. He was my all, and I rejoice that he had the courage to work and die that the earth might be made better for the generations yet unborn to live in. His way a glorious end for a glorious cause. I inclose my check for ten dollars which I hope will help some in your noble work, with best wishes for its great success."
