In gives me much joy to add my testimony to the many...

In gives me much joy to add my testimony to the many thousands that have gone before, heralding the good tidings of this healing truth which is filling the world today. I was a sufferer from asthma for about twenty-nine years having developed it when very young. I was than living in Oakland, Cal., and the physician said a change of climate was the only thing that would cure me. At this time it became necessary for the family to move to Pennsylvania, where we felt sure the cure would take place. For a few years I was free, and then, like Job, the thing I feared came upon me again. I suffered for many years, an opiate being the only thing which would secure me sleep.

After twenty-eight years of absence I was forced to return to the very city in which this ailment first manifested itself. It was there I learned of the truth that makes free, and after a few week's treatment in Christian Science I was healed in December, 1912. Words fail me when I try to express the joy I felt on learning that God is Love and that I was heir to all that is good. I have been healed of appendicitis, gallstones, moroseness, fear, and doubt, for now I know that in God "we live, and move, and have our being."

I try daily to show my thankfulness to God for the revelation of the truth which has come to me through the faithful study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works, and know that the more I seek the more I will find. I also appreciate the patient, loving work of the practitioners, and the daily food which is provided for us in the periodicals and other literature issued by The Christian Science Publishing Society, which carry their healing messages throughout the length and breadth of our land.
