For about two years my earnest prayer and desire has been to become a thorough Christian Scientist. A few years ago I was pronounced incurable owing to heart and kidney conditions, and ever since I can remember I have had gout, rheumatism, and stomach trouble in their severest forms. All these difficulties have disappeared since I have learned of the truth.
When I earnestly investigated Christian Science I had my first real glimpse of God as divine Truth. The most wonderful demonstration of all occurred in May, 1916. After suffering from distress in the lower part of my back and bowels for ten days or more, I remained at home for a couple of days, having to mortal sense severe pains. The second day at home I sat around reading, and eating whatever I desired, and slept splendidly that night until about half past four in the morning, when I called a practitioner, who said he would help me. In fifteen minutes I was fast asleep, and slept for about two hours. Then I went down town and worked at the trade as usual, though there were severe pains now and then. I went to see the practitioner about eight o'clock and he gave me a treatment. In the mean time I became conscious that I was healed. I got in a car and went to the office, and in two minutes after arriving, there passed from my bowels a large gall-stone. I did not miss a meal, was not sick, and no material remedies were administered. I walked home, ate dinner, and returned to work. I was weak for two days afterward, though perfectly well, and was without fear through this ordeal. My health is very good indeed, and I am trying to be a better Scientist every day.
