In compliance with the request of Governor McCall, William D. McCrackan, first reader of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, The Mother Church, made an announcement at both services yesterday [June 3] on the Liberty Loan. The members of the congregation were requested to support the loan as a patriotic duty and thus to do their part in sustaining and perpetuating the ideals of democracy.

The Mother Church and its allied activities have already subscribed for Liberty Bonds to the amount of $271,000. Circulars giving full information about the Liberty Loan, together with blank forms for subscriptions, have been given to the employees in the church offices and in The Christian Science Publishing Society, numbering over six hundred. Assistance will be given employees in purchasing Liberty Bonds in whatever amount they may desire. Bonds will be purchased and held for employees on a basis which will enable them to make payments weekly or monthly when necessary.
