The Lectures
Boston, Mass . (The Mother Church).—Dr. Francis J. Fluno, lecturer; introduced by William D. McCrackan, who said in part:—
Christian Science speaks with power and certitude in the midst of strife. It asks mankind certain pertinent questions in order that there may be salvation from "confusion worse confounded." Is man a material being subject to material law and organization, or is he in reality the creation, hence the reflection, of God, who is Spirit? Christian Science turns our attention first of all to the one and only cause, and presents this cause as infinitely good,—"Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love" (Science and Health, p. 465). From this one cause wholly outside of matter, Christian Science derives the real man, equally free from the characteristics of matter, sin, sickness, and death. Therefore the message comes to you direct this evening from a demonstrable and imperishable Science that you have nothing to fear; that no power, on the surface or hidden in the depths of evil intent, can separate you from God, divine Love.
