Christian Science reiterates Jesus' statement wherein he claims to be the Son of God but not God. Jesus believed in and worshiped the same God as did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the prophets. He taught all mankind to pray to "our Father which art in heaven," and to "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

There is only one Christian Science, and no one can be a genuine Christian Scientist and not be a Christian. Christian Science is based upon revelation, reason, and demonstration. (See Science and Health, p. 109.) Mrs. Eddy defines Christian Science as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 1). It is apparent from this definition that Christian Science is not based upon matter or material laws, but upon God's unerring and unchangeable law. Those who sufficiently understand its teachings to heal the sick and reform the sinner in accord with its divine Principle, testify that it is both Christian and scientific. If one has failed to demonstrate this Science, this does not prove it to be unscientific. Mathematics continues to be a science though the novice may at times fail to apply its rules correctly.
