Over fourteen years ago I was healed by Christian Science after three years of great suffering from nervous decline with all its accompanying fears and depressions. I was afraid of everything and in constant dread of what the next day might bring. Materia medica did not help me. At a time when my suffering seemed unbearable, a still deeper sorrow fell upon me in the sudden passing on of one very near and dear while absent from me. It seemed as if the end of all things had come, and I often wonder how I lived during the next six months.

Christian Science had been presented to me, but any interference with my way of thinking was resented, as I belonged to another church and thought myself satisfied. Kind friends, however, continued to bear with me until I finally yielded to Truth. I went for help every evening for three weeks, and was very much surprised when the practitioner told me I was healed, for in my eagerness to hear the truth self had been forgotten. Glasses had been worn for six years, and a specialist told me they could never be dispensed with; but thanks be to God and the faithful work of the practitioner, my eyes were healed during the first treatment in Christian Science.

In the years since then Christian Science has been my only physician, and it has never failed when applied correctly. I am grateful to God, and thankful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this truth which is so free to all.
