Further to confirm the efficacy of Christian Science in healing all manner of disease, I gratefully offer my testimony in the hope of convincing some one seeking help and health through the ministration of this truth.

Early in June, 1914, while living in Los Angeles, I was suddenly stricken ill, and being in a delicate condition immediately called a Christian Science practitioner. Treatment was given at once, although the extent of the help received was not realized or appreciated until later. I was visiting a friend at this time, but in an hour or two was able to return home, although in a state of exhaustion. The following day I was still ill, and the next morning, as it was apparent that premature birth would take place, a physician was sent for. With his verdict that I would not live until noon, he was dismissed, and another physician was called. The second doctor gave the same diagnosis, outlining fully the conditions, and was also confident that my life span was limited. He, however, asked permission to call a specialist, one to whom he said he would trust his own wife.

This specialist came, and after a thorough examination confirmed the statements of the other two physicians, agreeing that a capital operation was the only possible means of saving my life. They informed me of my condition and of their decision, stating that if I was not on the operating table in two hours they would not handle the case. At this point I asked to be left alone with the Christian Science practitioner, who was at my side during all this trouble. I asked her to read the ninety-first psalm aloud, and followed as best I could. In a few moments a change in my condition was noticeable. Up to this time I had been having one con vulsion after another, but these ceased. The practitioner remained with me during the remainder of the day and well into the night. That evening the second doctor (whose verification of this testimony is appended) called and was amazed to find me on the high road to recovery. The third day I was perfectly and painlessly delivered, and in less than two weeks was able to attend the Wednesday evening meeting. Not a single material remedy was applied in any form, and I have regained and exceeded my former health and weight.
