God Is Love

Greatest truth of all the ages—
God is Love;
Voiced by prophets or by sages—
God is Love.
To those who with fear are quaking,
To those hearts with sorrow breaking—
Truth to which the world is waking—
God is Love.

To the sick and heavy laden
God is Love;
Those to whom come tears unbidden,
God is Love.
To those who in grief are sighing,
In despair to God are crying,
And on beds of pain are lying,
God is Love.

Love it is that starts them singing—
God is Love;
Love it is the truth is bringing—
God is Love.
Love it is that heals and brightens,
Love our hold on Truth but tightens,
And the heavy burden lightens—
God is Love.
